Privacy notice

Privacy

In short: no cookies, no advertising, no tracking across sites. If you subscribe, your email address is used only to send you news about Synoptica.

Who is responsible

Nicolas Goossens, Geneva, Switzerland. Contact: hello@synoptica.ch.

Visiting the site

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare is based in the United States and certified under the Swiss–US and EU–US Data Privacy Frameworks.

Visits are counted with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly statistics service. It uses no cookies and does not store personal identifiers; it records only totals such as page views, referring sites, browser type, screen size and country. The fonts and the viewer are served from this site itself, not from third parties.

Email updates

If you sign up, your email address (and your answer to any optional question) is stored by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) to send you occasional news about new posters and corrected versions. Sign-up uses a confirmation email, so nobody can subscribe you without your agreement. Every email has an unsubscribe link; your address is then removed from the mailing list. Your address is never sold or shared for any other purpose.

Emails you send

If you write to hello@synoptica.ch, for example to report an error, your message is kept only as long as needed to answer it and to apply the correction. If you would like to be thanked by name in a corrected version, just say so.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation where it applies, you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its use. Write to hello@synoptica.ch. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or to the data protection authority in your country.
